(5 March 2015) I thrive on spontaneity, especially when it comes to unplanned garden-related pottering – one minute I am hanging the clothes out and the next I am mowing, sweeping, pruning, watering, harvesting, planting and dreaming. The best thing about this approach to garden maintenance is it’s a psychologically effective way to get things done without putting undue pressure on yourself (which can be the case if it’s a planned event and you are just not up to it). To make adhoc gardening adventures more convenient and time efficient, storing tool boxes in handy locations such as near main entrances or utility areas is a must. You can fashion said adventure boxes using items including weatherproof boxes, open-style containers such as peg baskets, or salvaged objects.
