Preserving the Harvest with Permaculture eXchange: Food Preserving using Sugar and Vinegar.
Ever wanted to know how to store food without a fridge or freezer? This two day workshop will set you on the path to transform your summer and autumn harvest into a winter feast.
Participants will gain hands-on experience preserving and making jams, jellies, cordials, sauces, pickles and chutney. They will also learn about the principles of dehydration including storage, bottling of fruit and veg using heat sealing, and storing raw untreated garden produce throughout the winter months.
When: 25 and 26 July 2015.
Where: Caroola Farm, 9074 Kings Highway, Mulloon, NSW (between Bungendore and Braidwood).
Cost: $300 including take home goodies ($250 for Permaculture eXchange members and also early bird price for first 10).
